Sponsor | gladsdotter | May 4, 4:01am | 9 -- I've found some sites lately through links and surfing the net that I thought were great and useful, then seen they'd already been 'discovered'. This is happening more and more, yet loads of the random stumbles are crap and if you dig a little deeper they're actually parts of spam sites (copypasted photos on eg, real estate sites that the same people have thumbed up loads of articles from). Why does this other (original) stuff get buried?
My sentiments exactly!!! I see my friends thumbing up things I am interested in, sites that are in topics and have tags I have chosen to stumble, and yet hitting the stumble button brings no end of garbage, and site after site that none of my friends have reviewed or even thumbed. It seems to be that the crap du jour is what gets sent anymore. |

| isabeats | May 4, 5:51am | | 9 + 12- I had some GREAT sites come up when I used the stumble button last week. The kinds of sites that led me to join SU a few years back. I forwarded the sites to Imorgen, who was also impressed. I really had my hopes up that things were changing. but then yesterday, when I tried the stumble button, HORRIBLE stuff came up, including a projector for sale for 795$. Blatant spam. And SEO crap tagged as science, when it clearly wasn't. |
